The word "nostalgia" is a compound of ancient Greek consisting of nóstos ("returning home") and álgos ("pain"). Etymologies are not much more interesting, if you are in such things.

At the end of 1600 by a Swiss doctor identified nostalgia as a medical condition - a sort of hypochondria heart. And for the next couple of centuries of people was suffering from the disease without a continuation tratamiento.A, a Professor of Slavic Harvard named Svetlana Boym spent years studying various manifestations of nostalgia and determined that there were two different types of sensation. one she calls "reflective nostalgia", which consisted of longing for the past without denying the present. The second type called "restorative nostalgia", which is to invent a tradition to make more coherent past.

  Announcement of Apple II

Nostalgia came to mind when looking at a TV show a couple of weeks back called "Welcome to Macintosh" on the history of Apple.  The reflexive, type to be precise.   An illuminating part documentary was how director went Apple II - from an old computer on the internet for the bid.  It was not just any Apple II, but fifth unit (s/N # 5) to shoot out of the manufacturing line in the 1970s.

This led to the twin cities and Wayne Wenzlaff film director.Wenzlaff long has been credited with giving Apple pop-up still his first great salto.Como says the film, "It all began in Minnesota" documentary .the recapitulates how Wenzlaff collected filmmaker in the twin cities airport and had led him to its related Apple treasure, which included the Apple II.   Complete with a printed leather Apple since 1977 and given to Wenzlaff other than Mike Markkula, original investor in Apple case. It is that the Wenzlaff was a buyer for the post enclose them based on Minnesota electronic equipment of chain stores.  Computer electronics became first great set of Apple selling retail consumer market. In addition, Wenzlaff helped Apple won its first great education, market operation in Minnesota.

It's fun.I can't remember what I had for lunch last Thursday, but for some reason I have a memory quite clear my experience when they live in ("NoDak") North Dakota Apple attends the Universidad.Para awhile working part time on the computer electronics (Store # 30) in Bismarck. This was around 1977 and I remember clearly when the first Apple II computer appeared in the store.Nobody knew what to do with him, but soon enough calculated us how spent hours playing a game of Star trek (uploaded by cassette tape).

In fact, a good buddy of mine (who also worked in the team and was partially responsible for getting a job that I) we are talking about this documentary and told the history of its assistance in a mini-electronics in Minneapolis show few weeks before he came the Apple II in the tiendas.Antes the opening of the show, was a meeting of all the representatives of the shop and power plant personal computer where the Apple II was going to be unveiled.Recalled that this tall boy with hair in a queue of horse, wearing an uncomfortable suit 10' away - no more and no less a nervous Steve Jobs!It was point zero for the introduction of the Apple II computer electronics franchise.

The past cannot be fully regained and often never really was the way in which recuperarlo.Pero, this documentary offers a few laughs and recommend it to anyone with even a vague interest in Apple.La time 1.5 movie you can view online aquí.En minute 12: 15 mark is where begins Wenzlaff/equipo.También dialogue is a great article Edition of October 1982 of National Geographic in Silicon Valley and work here.
